The route is divided into two sections.
The first ride section, Les Rousses to Saint Julien en Genevois,.
This section you will be pleased to hear is nearly all downhill. We will be having an early start so it will be chilly. Newspapers down jerseys will be a must. This should be a beautiful part of the stage and try to keep your eyes on the road as you take in exactly the same section route that the Tour de France riders will be racing down
The second ride section, Saint Julien en Genevois to Morzine Avoriaz.
This section you may not be pleased to hear is nearly all uphill!! We will be entering the high mountains Col de La Ramaz and the climb to Avoriaz
There will be little water or food available on these climbs and if its hot you will need to make sure that you fill up your bottles in the towns prior. They are spectacular climbs so remember to take in the views and don’t just stare at the road! We hope that there will be a few people at the top of the climbs with water and snacks should you need them.
Take good care on the descent from the Col de La Ramaz it is very fast with tight corners. Try to avoid holding your brakes on the whole way down as your rims will gain a lot of heat.
ARRIVAL IN AVORIAZ
We will aim to have riders and guests cross the line together in Avoriaz. We will take some photos and take in the moment. It is then a ride (roll) back down the mountain to Morzine or there maybe minibuses available to put your bike in and get a lift down.
There will be a post ride party at Hotel Le Sherpa in Morzine with a BBQ and drinks. The bbq will operate a ‘bring your own meat system’ salads will be provided and drinks available form the bar.
